Microsoft Research PhD Scholarships 2008

Microsoft

In 2004, the Microsoft European Science Initiative launched the Microsoft Research PhD Scholarship Programme and sponsored a first batch of 10 PhD Scholars. Since then Microsoft has awarded another 68 scholarships. We are now in the process of making this year’s awards, a task that will bring our total close to a hundred students– and this does not include students to be sponsored at the Max Planck Institute in Saarbrücken or students sponsored through other mechanisms!

As in previous years, the majority of the applications came from the UK. The UK Academic Team would like to join with our colleagues at Microsoft Research, Cambridge in congratulating the following UK universities on their successful submissions.

Birmingham, Cambridge (2), Edinburgh (2), Lancaster, Manchester, The Open University, Oxford (2), St Andrew’s, University College London (2)

Congratulations to all!

Claire
