Champion IT - the award for outstanding IT professionals

I spotted this post on Eileen Brown's blog and thought it would be great to have some academic nominations/winners. If someone in your IT dept is an unknown hero then please put their name forward.

Do you know any outstanding individuals and should they be recognised?

CHAMPION IT - THE AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING IT PROFESSIONALS

The second phase of ChampionIT , a programme that celebrates the day-to-day efforts of IT Professionals has launched again for this quarter. and our judging panel have chosen their top three finalists.  click here to read the great things our top three finalists have done with our technology.

ChampionIT celebrates the heroic efforts of IT professionals who are often called-upon when problems arise but rarely celebrated when systems are running smoothly. The main aim of the programme is to recognise the efforts of IT Pro’s on a day-to-day basis. ChampionIT on a wider scale will also showcase the various ways Microsoft products (latest, legacy and interoperability) have enhanced the way in which a company operates.

To give the programme a competitive edge we are following the same format of our sister programme “DesignIT”, with a judging panel and public vote.  Ultimately the Champion of ChampionIT will have been recognised by both Industry insiders (Microsoft and an independent judge) and their peers (IT Pro’s). Every six weeks a new IT Pro will be awarded the title of ChampionIT

The competition is open to everyone and anyone who considers themselves to be an IT Pro.

There are three categories:

  • Latest and greatest (the latest version of a product)
  • Legacy (previous releases and beyond)
  • Interoperability (running a mixed vendor environment)

What are the judges are looking for?

“This programme is about sharing innovation, so we want to know how you have successfully used a Microsoft product to create change in your organisation. Perhaps your solution improved productivity, or saved money.”

To win you must show the judges and public that you deserve to be ChampionIT.

Process:

  1. Nominate yourself – also able to send it to friends
  2. Judging panel choose three finalist
  3. Three finalist go to the public vote who then choose the winner

Why should you get involved?

  • I am sure there you know IT Pro’s out there who are doing outstanding things with our products and are not being recognised.
  • ChampionIT showcases innovation
  • It focuses on celebrating the individual
