Creativity and Design

This talk is intended for students of computer game courses, with a heavy emphasis on design. It focuses on the subject of creativity, how to harness and improve it, and how deal with the demands on your  creativity at every stage of the development arc. It offers a first-hand perspective on the qualities required by a games designer from an industry veteran.

Presented by Duncan Botwood – Senior Games Designer

Duncan joined Rare as a game designer in 1995. His credit projects are GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, and Perfect Dark Zero, and he has contributed to other projects such as Star Fox Adventures, Conker: Live and Reloaded, Kameo, and Jetpac: Refuelled during his time at Rare. At the time of writing he has over twelve years experience of working in the games industry, but then you knew that because of the first sentence.
