Please note this announcement relates to the Payroll Module available on the Microsoft Dynamics AX Pricelist released for USA, Canada and Australia only.
Microsoft has decided to focus its efforts in the near future on delivering a payroll solution focusing on the tax and regulatory requirements applicable in the USA and Canada only. Thus, Microsoft and Loki agreed that the Payroll Module (also known as Global Payroll Engine for Microsoft Dynamics® AX) is better positioned and delivered through our Certified for Microsoft Dynamics (“CfMD”) Program; our relationship with Loki continues to be strong and we will work with them through the CfMD and other ISV programs.

Between October and December 2009, Microsoft will release various software updates, depending on when tax authorities in each country/region make their requirements publicly available, to help customers comply with the new regulations. One update is already included in Hotfix Rollup 3 for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 SP1 (KB974409) and Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 RTM (KB974407) and is available as a hotfix for Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 SP2. You must install this update before installing subsequent VAT 2010 updates.
The VAT Package introduces changes in the following key areas:
- Place of supply rules for services.
- EU sales list reporting obligations.
- VAT refund procedures.
- Introduction of a one-stop shop approach to VAT reporting.
These software updates will be made available for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 and Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 SP2.
Detailed information is available in a whitepaper (already posted to the blog) which you can find on PartnerSource and CustomerSource.

Hello All, as most of you will be aware, we’ve had some changes to our Partner Learning Centre systems over recent months, and where previously we had the Dynamics Training and Events Portal to view the full Dynamics schedule, all of a sudden we just had the Partner Learning Centre. The great news is that you can now view all of the Dynamics Training in one place again using the following Dynamics Training One Stop Shop Link on the Microsoft Partner Network.
A live meeting was recently recorded talking through the Partner Development Centre, once posted, this will appear on the main PDC Link above. The two tabs on the link are where you can go to search for Live and Recorded Dynamics training, searching by product, role and level. Make sure you familiarise yourself with the link and search, and get yourself booked up onto the December Roadshows scheduled for 8th December in Reading and 10th December in Manchester.
