Welcome to the UK ISV Blog sharing information across the Microsoft community of ISV involved in the Microsoft Partner Programme (MSPP).
Welcome to the ISV Blog. This is something I've been meaning to do since last summer but never found the time or technical know-how to complete – which is a fairly lame excuse.
My name is Steve Morrow and I own the strategy for Microsoft's UK ISV business group. I can be contacted directly any time at steve.morrow@microsoft.com and intend to make extensive use of this Blog to reach the extended community of developers building application on the Microsoft platform.
I expect to include a good variety of content and with a little practice I hope to make good use of Tags to ensure the as readers you can get to the information that's important to you.
So what sort of things will I be including in my Blog entries.....well....pretty much anything that I come across on a daily basis that I think would be useful to a broad audience. This may include:
- Feedback from meetings I have with partners (obviously with their permission), but you'd be amazed at the number of really interesting ISV's I meet with who have something really interesting to share or who have built something really innovative or just want to find likeminded people and organisation to reach out to.
- Opportunities to take advantage of programmes, training, marketing – basically a myriad of resources that I have at my disposal if only I can get to the 50 organisation that could really benefit from the resource at that point in time.
- Technical information – we a technology company – whatever the Marketing people say!! We have a passion for innovation and regularly seek to find launch partners and early adopters to road test our new products with. Stay tuned if this is something you would like to embrace. Many of the programmes have fairly stringent entry requirements, but I want to make the offer available to the broadest possible audience.
- Finally, this Blog isn't primarily about technical content – it's about sharing information to help Microsoft ISVs maximise their return from the partnership. I'm always amazed at how little some of the key benefits we have available free to partners. I want to use the Blog to regularly remind you of some of the key benefits, how to make use of them and how to other organisations have done.
