ISV Partner Advisory Board – Overview of Objective

At the beginning of FY07 [June 06] we formed the ISV Partner Advisory Board with the intention of bringing together a group of senior executives from a cross-section of Microsoft ISV partners to help shape the UK ISV partnering strategy. We set out with the intention of holding one meeting per quarter with a group of; 8 and 12 partner executives, myself as Head of ISV, my colleague Andy Hill as audience "owner" and an invited executive from Microsoft's UK board.

In an attempt to get well rounded feedback, we specifically invited representation from companies of different sizes and with business interests in a variety of customer types and vertical markets. The current board members are key executives from the following Microsoft partner organisation:

Coda Financial – Financial Management software
Nimbus – Process Mapping and Performance Management Solutions
OpenText – Enterprise Content Management software
rdt – Insurance Systems & Rating Engines
SunGard Vivista – Solution for Public Safety, Criminal Justice and Government
System C – Clinical Information Systems
Torex Retail – Solution for Retail, Hospitality & Leisure, Petroleum and Convenience
Tribal – Public Sector & Education software and consulting services
Xenomorph - Real-Time Analytics Solution for Financial Markets

I'd like to publicly thank each of the individuals who devote their time and energy to actively participating in these sessions. Each of these sessions consumes valuable time and my commitment is to turn our discussions into actions that have a positive effect on the entire Microsoft ISV Community.

In the past two sessions, the executives representing Microsoft UK board have been;

David Parry-Jones – GM, Enterprise & Partner Group

Scott Dodds – GM, Small, Medium Enterprises & Partners Group

To ensure we have a balanced chair for the group, we've been working with Jane Grant from Executive Change who has both managed the logistics for each of the events as well as chairing each of the sessions.

From this point on, I would like to use this Blog to communicate a summary of the sessions to you, the broader ISV community. My hope is that you'll provide additional viewpoints, feedback and suggestions for how we can continually enhance the value and experience of being a Microsoft ISV partner. If you'd like to participate on the board, I'm interested in potentially adding 1 or 2 additional members for the coming 12 months.

I'll post a summary of the last session held a couple of weeks ago over the next few days. Our next session is scheduled for 2nd August 2007 and I'll post the briefing note for this session about a week ahead of the meeting. Again, I'd be delighted to receive your commentary and input ahead of the session which I will commit to tabling during the discussion.

The Blog is going to be one of our key communication mechanisms for the coming 12 months..........this post is a little dry.....I'll try to inject a little humour as we go forward!

Thank again for being interested in Microsoft UK ISV Blog.....we're committed to making the partnership work!

Regards
