About Brent Phillips

During most of my waking hours, I work for Microsoft’s Intellectual Property and Licensing Division. Specifically, I manage joint-marketing programs with several open-source companies with whom Microsoft has developed intellectual property licensing and/or interoperability agreements. I joined Microsoft in March 2006 after a number of years in the wireless communications industry where I held roles in engineering, product marketing and management, and business development. Prior to that, I co-owned a web marketing firm that started as a freelance business while I was completing my undergraduate degree. Along the way, I also completed a master’s degree in business administration.
