About Dan Kasun

"You never know anything completely until you break it at least twice" has been Dan's motto, ever since blowing up the system board his Apple IIe at the impressionable age of 10. The power of software development, as well as the thrill of putting out small electrical fires, fueled Dan's interest in computers, leading him to eventually earn a BS in Computer Engineering from Lehigh University in 1991. Since that time, he's developed solutions for large and small organizations on just about every platform - and joined Microsoft in 1996. Over the past decade or so, Dan has been working specifically with large customers in the Financial Services and Health & Life Sciences industries on solutions from Office development to mutli-tier transactional systems. He's a regular speaker at many developer events, especially at the Microsoft Financial Services DevCon and Health & Life Sciences DevCon each year. Dan lives in NJ with his wife and three children, and spends his spare time (approx. 5 hours/year), fishing or skiing (sometimes both, weather permitting). He's also an amateur artist/cartoonist... but don't get him started on that if you expect to have a productive conversation.
