Video, Photos Shows Windows Azure Data Centers

A video from CNET shows the new data center in Chicago that hosts Windows Azure. In its first phase, the ground floor of the facility is designed to hold up to 56 containers, each filled with anywhere from 1,800 to 2,500 servers. Each of the servers can host e-mail, manage instant messages, or run your applications in Windows Azure.

For a view inside, see Photos: Inside a Microsoft data center. Photos include a traditional data center, how the containers work, the air skates on which the containers roll, and how the servers are cooled.
