#2 Did you know? IntelliSense is now transparent in VS2008! (Lisa Feigenbaum)

With the help of one little hotkey, you can now make the VS2008 IntelliSense list transparent! Just press

CTRL. This is especially convenient when you need to see the code underneath the list.

Watch it in action :)

Nice feature. This will become very handy, that's for sure!

That's fantastic!  Is there any way to adjust the level of opacity?

Un tip molto interessante... Almeno per me :-)

That is awesome! I was just getting frustrated by the intellisense obscuring some code the other day. Very handy!

Hi Josh,

No, unfortunately there is no way to adjust the level of opacity in this release. If you had that ability, what would you make it? What is the situation for which you want this?

Thanks!

Lisa

Lisa,

Thanks for the reply.  In the screenshot, it appears too tranparent and you can barely see intellisense, I would give it a higher opacity to make it a little more visible.  Another potential benefit of making the opacity adjustable would be the possibility of setting the opacity to 0.   You could therefore hide intellisense completely by hitting the ever-so-convienent CTRL key.

Best regards...

Lisa Feigebaum from the VB team recently wrote two posts about VS2008 IntelliSense for Visual Basic.

Besides making Intellisense having an variable opacity, another thing you could do is setting it, like Josh Stodola said, to something less opaque, perhaps 40%. Another feature that I'm not sure if is implemented yet is being able to toggle back and forth between opaque and transparency modes by hitting the control key repeatedly. Does it already do this? I didn't know until this morning that VS does this, so I'll have to check it out! Nice feature anyway.

1 つのショートカット キーを使うだけで、VS2008 の IntelliSense 一覧が透明になります。Ctrl キーを押すだけです。一覧の下に隠れているコードを見る必要があるときに、特に便利な機能です。ちょっと試してみましょう。
