·        How long have you been using VB?

I first started with VB3 when it was released in 1993.  After working many years in the real-time / embedded space, I had spent the previous half year learning Windows programming in C (Petzold).  When a friend of mine told me that VB3 was "the greatest thing since sliced bread" I checked it out and haven't looked back since.

·        What industry do you work in?

I/we have worked across many different industries, including medical, financial, robotics, real-estate, and web applications.

·        How big is your development team?

Usually falls in the range of 1-5 developers.

·        What kind of apps do you most commonly build?

Windows (Winforms), Web, and messaging.

·        What’s the most interesting app you’ve ever built?

They've all been interesting :-)  But perhaps the most memorable was a VB6 application that was a development environment for robotics programs.  It included an IDE, language compiler, and real-time debugger -- all developed in VB6.

·        Please tell us about an app that you’re working on at the moment.

We are currently developing a high-throughput messaging and database system for the medical information field.

·        What other technologies do you most commonly use?

SQL Server, MSMQ, Web Services, and C#.

·        What are some of your favorite VB features?

Background compile, MY, and LINQ.

·        What do you like most about VB as a programming language?

Readability and the undying passion of its developer community.
