Microsoft and WaSP

As i was reading various blogs this morning, i came across this post. This is probably the most nicely worded post about Microsoft and Web Standards I have seen in a while. I am really happy to see Microsoft working with WaSP to improve web standards compatibility in Microsoft products. At the very least, it will make my life easier. Not having to worry about browser differences is a beautiful thing. Here is to hoping this is going to come true and soon.

This might be old news to most people, but I just found a cool site that compares the major browsers for standards support. This is very useful for anyone designing a website and having to died with a browser matrix.

IIS Webcast series now has its own website

If you are a web developer or test web sites or manage a web site, you might have seen the IIS some of the IIS web casts. Now the IIS team has its own portal for the IIS Webcast series. I have found the Web casts very useful for a variety of topics and i think this is great resource. Go look at it at http://www.iiswebcastseries.com.

Amazing feedback

Wow. What a way to start blogging. I have not even had the chance to introduce myself and I have already been slashdotted. As a geek, it is a great feeling when something you write gets on the frontpage at slashdot. I now have a gif to prove that. :) Next step is to get linked by Scoble.

I have had about 20000 hits so far to the original entry and our team has got some great feedback. I like this blogging thing. :). Thanks for the great welcome. I am excited to see that people are interested in what we do at MSN. Stopdesign also has a very good article about our conversion. The comments there also have a lot of good feedback. Thanks for the feedback.

Let me introduce myself and set some expectations for the blog. My name is Venkat Narayanan and I am a SDET on the MSN Portal team. Our team works on http://www.msn.com, My MSN and some other pages. We are also responsible for some of the international portals. I am going to try and blog about once a week. Let us see how that holds up.
