The Build Master book has shipped!!

Hello, it’s been a long while.

The two major reasons for my absence is the amount of time needed to get The Build Master book completed and the birth of my son! I am happy to say that both events have gone well and now I hope to have more time to blog and spend time with my baby boy and his older sister!

Since the book has officially shipped, I would like to say that it was an honor and privilege to work with an amazingly great and truly professional group of people at Addison-Wesley. The delay in getting this book published was entirely my fault. Sorry if I kept some of you waiting – it was necessary to get everything right (and all of the appropriate permissions). If anyone reading this blog is considering writing a book, I could not give a higher recommendation than going with A-W.

Got the book today. Nice read indeed. Congratulations with this dual birth ;-)

But I don't understand why the setup in figure 1.3 should be better than in figure 1.2.

And one should more promote the concept of staging area/servers. Happy to see it appear in your book.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it (and for the baby congrats!). I think the figures you're talking about is in the intro - I.3 and I.2. The idea here was to show that the build process in the MSN group is moving towards a centralized one rather than splitting the builds among the products.
