HoverTank 3D under Virtual PC
So it appears very few people know this - but HoverTank 3D was the first 3D first person shooter to be released by the company that would eventually be known as 'ID Software'. Released in 1991 it used EGA polygons for the walls, and had very simple graphics.

Enabling sound over RDP with a Windows Server 2003 virtual machine
Virtual Server does not provide sound support out of the box - and in the past I have commented that it is possible to get sound out of a virtual machine if you connect to it via RDP and enable sound remoting under the advanced options of the Remote Desktop

Problems with Virtual Server when shutting down the host
Some people have encountered an issue with Virtual Server when they are shutting down the host operating system. What happens is that they configure Virtual Server to 'save state' their virtual machines when the host operating system is being shutdown,

System Center Virtual Machine Manager Beta

Installing Virtual Server on Windows Vista Beta 2
People have been asking me how to install Virtual Server on Windows Vista Beta 2. There are a couple of things to know in order to do this: The default install of IIS on Windows Vista Beta 2 is missing several components the Virtual Server needs to run.
