Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition evaluation VHDs are now available for Virtual Server and Hyper-V.  They are available full and core installation options.

You can get the Hyper-V VHDs from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=060f0c51-339a-4c4e-bb6e-716bb7401fd4&DisplayLang=en

Do you know if these or any Serve 2008 flavors are available for VPC?  I'm specifically looking for a Domain Controller for TFS demos.

Ryan -

The Virtual Server images should be able to run under Virtual PC with no issues.

Hello,

Is there any major difference between Hyper-V and VS2005 virtual machines?

Best,

Ivor

Hyper-V supports x64 based operating systems, and can have multiple processors.  Hyper-V and Virtual Server have different video cards and SCSI controllers.  Also – Hyper-V uses a different HAL for Windows, so Hyper-V virtual machines cannot boot on Virtual Server (Virtual Server virtual machines can boot on Hyper-V).

Cheers,

Ben
