Linux Integration Components (v2 RC2) for Hyper-V Now Available

The release candidate 2 version of the second generation of the Linux integration components for Hyper-V are now available for download.  You can get the bits from here: https://connect.microsoft.com/SelfNomination.aspx?ProgramID=1863&pageType=1&SiteID=495

These integration components support the following versions of Linux:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.2 (x86/x64)
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.3 (x86/x64)
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 SP2 (x86/x64)

They work on both the 2008 and 2008 R2 versions of Windows Server and Hyper-V server.

Note that these components are only for accelerated network and storage support – and you still need to obtain the bits for mouse integration separately.  Another thing to be aware of is that these components still only support uni-processor virtual machines.

Cheers,
Ben

Mike -

Now that the source for the integration components have been released under GPL there is nothing to stop them from being included in Ubuntu.

Ben
