I think that program "does not work" and program "requires some modification of the installation data files" are the same thing from an end-user perspective.

Nicolas is right, this is NOT acceptable for an end user! But in case you want to make it work, my tests may be helpful. Let's hope we soon have a working version for 64-bit Windows.

Given:

MsnSearchToolbar.msi extracted to C:\Setup\MSN Search Toolbar

Based on the above usage of msiexec, this fails every time and is reproducable on demand:

msiexec /i C:\Setup\MSN Search Toolbar\MsnSearchToolbar.msi NOLEGITCHECK=1

Please re-check your findings. Even using /NOLEGITCHECK=1 this install fails.

You have to open the .msi file using ORCA. Go to the LaunchCondition section and remove "AND (NOT VersionNT64))" from the string that will appear.

Save the file and it will work.
