I ran into this same issue a few months back when I was playing with the (unsupported since beta 2) ability to make .Net WinForms controls available as ActiveX controls.

I figured out the same workaround, although I will say my problem occurred on Windows XP and caused a DrWatson in VFP8 when closing the form. Obviously I am not complaining about this because the functionality I was trying to use wasn't supported.

But I will ask is the "issue" described in this article going to be "fixed" in VFP9, or is it something that shouldn't be fixed?

Wonderful Blog entry Calvin! One of the most detailed and most entertaining (for a geek that is), detective stories I've read in a while.

I certainly appreciate the detailed explanation and the insight into how things work. That certainly opened my understanding of certain types of problems, useful next time a problem of this type arises.

Hi,

Really enjoyed reading about this, it's nice to know the VFP team care about solving problems, even if it's fustrating having to debug old code!

One thing I'm finding hard, is a lot of ActiveX developers are only releasing new versions of their tools for .Net. Can or will VFP8/9 support the .Net controls?
