Welcome to the updated Visual Studio Tools for Office 3.0 Blog!

Published 19 December 07 04:05 PM

Hello, my name is Christin Boyd and I'm one of the Program Managers for Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office system. Welcome to our new Visual Studio Tools for Office (VSTO) blog.  This URL replaces the old blogs.msdn.com/vsto2 site which was focused on VSTO 2.x, which included VSTO 2005 and VSTO 2005 Second Edition, and some information about VS 2008 while it was in Beta.

Over the coming weeks and months, we'll collect the best VSTO code snippets and insider information from our team, and from the Forum, user groups, Web sites, and other related resources to help you get the most out of VSTO.

If you have a question, please post it to our MSDN Forum. The VSTO product team, a support engineer, and our MVPs answer dozens of questions on the Forum every day.

VSTO documentation is available on the Web in the MSDN Library Online.

Other bloggers on the VSTO team include Misha Shneerson, John R. Durant, Eric Carter and Thomas Quinn to name a few. Be sure to visit their blogs as well.

Hey Christin,

FYI, the MSDN Forum is still labeled as for the 2003 and 2005 products. Should there be a new section for Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office system in 2008?

While I have you on the line, what's the latest on the Full Trust/Partial Trust story?  Full trust was a showstopper for me in the past because I don't own the server. Am I able to deploy applications to an ASP.NET 3.5 site that permits only partial trust?

Thanks,

Ken

Link is fixed now.  Ken, are you talking about Office full trust or ASP full trust?  You should probably ask your ASP question on their forum.  Office 2007 requires Full Trust for any addins.
