Answer to a question about draft documents on this team blog

Recently we recieved the following comment on one of the draft documents we posted here:

#re: How to: Move Your Team Foundation Server from One Hardware Configuration to Another

This is almost a great document.... however none of the links work, thus making it a completely useless document!

VSTSUE replies: This was a draft version of the document. The published versions(including click-through links) of all the Moving Team Foundation Server documentation can be found here: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms404879.aspx.

Hope this helps!

Unfortunately, the draft versions of documents we post here will frequently not have active links, both as a result of not having documents to link to yet (in the case of links to not-yet-ready documentation) and as a side effect of the conversion process we usually use to post the drafts (in the case of documents already published on MSDN).  Fortunately, we're making some changes that will (hopefully) result in shorter delays between drafts posted here and final publication on MSDN, where all links will be functional.

We hope that the draft documents are useful and strong enough on their own to stand without active links, even if it does mean taking the extra step of looking up referenced documents on MSDN.  In the meantime, we'll keep working on ways to improve the experience.

Thanks,

-=Susan
