"Note   For restore-based move types, the Team Foundation application-tier server name must be changed."

Why is this so?

I guess because to restore from an existing server, both the old and new servers have to be up on the network.

I plan to install Team Foundation Server Beta 3 Refresh and I am aware that SQL Server 2005 is required for this install.
I need to know if VS Team Foundation Server Beta 3 Refresh is capable of accessing the SQL database that is located on another server?
Is it possible to install and run VS Team Foundation Server Beta 3 Refresh with this hardware configuration?

Hi Jack,

Team Foundation Server has been released; Beta 3 Refresh is no longer being distributed or supported. Consider installing Team Foundation Server Trial Edition (available as a free download) instead. As for Team Foundation Server using a pre-existing SQL server database, that configuration is not supported.
