Visual Studio 2008 Beta 2 & Silverlight

In case you hadn't noticed, today has been a busy day in Redmond uploading new bits to the download servers. The following are now available for download:

We'll have more blog posts in the next week or so showing off the new features, so download and tell us what you think.

IMPORTANT RELNOTE: If you are doing ASP.NET AJAX 1.0 development with VS 2005, you should run this script after installing VS 2008 Beta2 to ensure that the installation of .NET Framework 3.5 Beta 2 will not affect development in VS 2005.  You should do this immediately after installing VS Beta 2.  See this post for more details.

@Andreas Kraus: Try reloading the download page. It takes some time until all download servers are in sync.

Hi Travis,

We are planning to release and update of Web Deployment Projects for VS 2008 sometime shortly after VS2008 ships.  At the moment we don't have anything available.

Why not include WDPs with the release of VS 2008?? Why does it have to be separate?

I'd like to add my support for WDP in VS2008. We use these projects to configure and build sites for multiple customers from a generic code base and it's become part of everyday life to use WDP.

If we have the project files from VS2005, is it possible to run these manually with msbuild? or can we produce the same results (i.e. running aspnet_compiler and aspnet_merge) by re-creating msbuild scripts?

Best regards, Craig
