Hi,

I'm having the following issue: I'm able to compile and run a .NET2.0 / AJAX 1.0 (web extensions 1.06) enabled web site on VS2008Beta2 but SV2008 doesnt let me add the AJAX back to the toolbox even when I specifically select them. As recommended I did run the "disable AJAX policy" tool after VS2008 install.

Any idea of what it could be ?

Hi Karl -- I have seen this behavior on another machine, although I did not encounter it on mine. Try this workaround:

1. Create a new Website with Target Framework set to 3.5

2. Open the Default.aspx page in this Website, so that the Toolbox shows the available ASP.NET controls

3. Create the new "AJAX Extensions 1.0" tab in Toolbox

4. Right-click in this tab and "Choose Items.."

5. Browse for the (AJAX 1.0)System.Web.Extensions.dll and add the controls to toolbox

Verify that the controls are displayed in toolbox. Now... try to create a new Website with Target Framework 2.0 and see if the AJAX 1.0 controls show up.

If it turns out this is a viable workaround, I will update my post accordingly. Thanks for pointing this out!

When you have a Web Application Project in VB, where can you change your version of the framework your targeting?? For a C# project you find this in the Application tab in the projects properties.

In a VB WAP, if you go to the Compile Tab, scroll down and click on "Advanced Compile Options", you will see the target framework dropdown.
