It's a pity that neither VS2008 nor VS2010 has the minimum editing support for .tt files. A technology that is depended to Visual Studio, while more and more developers begin using it, one has to use a third party plug-in in order to get basic editing support.

So some of the host properties have been implemented with no opp implementations.. like the LoadIncludeText http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.visualstudio.texttemplating.itexttemplatingenginehost.loadincludetext.aspx

It also seems like when I use a <@ Assembly that the assembly does not get loaded by the host. I assume that one of the methods that loads assemblis dynamically is a no-opp as well. It would be great if the host was full featured, so that we can really take advantage of the templates. Say to generate multiple output files, like a controller and a controllerUnitTest file from one t4 template. That would really be powerful.

Yeah, I think code highlighting in .tt files should be in Visual Studio.

Also, instead of <#+ #> blocks, maybe support code behind to define methods, sort of like .aspx files?

@Jeff Odell Oleg's work cannot run in the current MVC Template Host as it stands in the RC1. I outlined some of the issues in the link on my previous comment. I hope it will be supported in a future release.
