I have no "Windows Installer 4.5 Beta" mentioned in step 4.

I have "Window Home Server RC" and then "Windows Live Betas".

Hello Thomas,

I believe this means you are signed up. The connect site moves the program from the "Available Connections" list to the "My Participation" list. Try clicking on the "My Participation" link on the left hand menu and see if the program is there.

This caught me too as I was learning to use the connect site. I was a bit panic stricken thinking that all my work had disappeared until I figured out programs shifted lists.

Drop me another comment if it's not on either the "Available Connections" or the "My Participation" list.

Indeed, you are right. I might already be signed up. What made me think that I was not, is that when I tried to download the paper "Agility trends..." it said I had to sign up to the program before I could download.

I do not get that error any longer, instead I get to a page with the title "Agility Trends in Packaged Software white paper available now" and a link that the should take me to the document. Clicking the link gives me an error though: "Page Not Found. The content that you requested cannot be found or you do not have permission to view it."
