I was trying to look at Sam & Max in the Arcade section, but I keep getting messages like "Can't retrieve information from Xbox LIVE. Please try again later. Status code: 80004004".

After a few of those messages I did get to the Featured Downloads section, but when trying to download the trial I just got status code 8007065d and no download.

I'm accessing the XBLM in Finland by the way.

Strange behaviour of Xbox.com:  When I am viewing any friend's profile page, it lists their most recent games played along with achievements and gamerscore for each.  But if I click on any of the games, it goes to my own achievement listing for the game.  That is not what I would expect.  Shouldn't it really be going to the "Compare Achievements" page?

i praise the xbox live team for what they had to do, i work with servers every day and the amount of work that they would of had to do to upgrade all the sql servers and other stuff would of taken quite some time as i know sql server can be a bitch at times.

sure there may be a few issues after this massive upgrade to the network, but guess what guys, this blog is here for that reason, so we can help inform them of whats wrong so that they can fix it..

i just dont get some people, the xbox live team has done a great job, even the new xbox website update looks cool =)

so thanks from me and all my mates from here in sydney, aussie.. we at least understand how much effort went into the past 30-40 hours now.. not to mention all the pre-prepping for the update.

Yesterday before the maintenance began the Wolverine Arena add-on went missing - now it's back.

I noticed now also (along with loads of you all) that the (old) new Sega games are gone, along with the Saints Row 2 Unkut pack.

Kinda like evertything reset back a week or so ago.

But a couple of hours after they turned it back on today Sam & Max were uploaded - so where's the Saint's & Sega stuff?

Shouldn't that stuff have gone back on before anything new? (In theory - lets pretend everything's working).

I am not trying to sound rude or anything, because I am sure this is a very hard thing to do, but I am just going to give a list of what people and I have found problems with so far.

1. When you try to download something it takes your MS points and then says you didn't buy it.

2. You can not see other people's achievements now on Xbox.com(this has me the most worried, because now my favorite website, Trueachievements.com can't run until you fix that)

3. Netflix can not be accessed on your xbox.

4. Something is wrong with bungie(I don't use that so not sure what it is)

I hope this list helps you guys to fix the problems. Also great job on the repairs except for these issues.

Every time a company makes massive upgrades or implements a new system bugs happen.  Xbox/microsoft is not the only company to have this happen, it happens to every major and small company that makes huge updates.  Errors may go unnoticed when in a test environment before an update is implemented, or a process that was working in testing may for whatever reason create an error when the update goes live.  No major update is perfect because no one human is perfect and therefore minor errors happen. With this observation, I am convinced that they are working as fast as they can- and hopefully more efficiently (if that's the case).

Have you ever been in a position where code is tested and deployed? I seriously hope you haven't been for anything widely deployed or, for that matter, for a small but important deployment.

The test environment should essentially be a duplication of the production environment. The update deployment should be tested after the fact. Even if a rollback isn't an option in a case like this, people might be a little more understanding if the message wasn't "Whew, we're done, let's bolt." and instead was "We broke it, but most things are working, we'll fix our mess."

I will grant that Xbox Live is one of the less important things in the world that could have problems. It isn't like updating a flight computer on aircraft. Those have a bit more stringent tests. But we are talking about a rather large company which charges a non-trivial amount of money for the service and touts it as part of the experience and reason for owning a 360. I'd expect a less cavalier attitude, such that the "one imperfect person" you blame cannot cause such a failure.

I have 3160 points stuck on my account that I can not spend.

Xbox Live has been like this for days now. It is very unfair on anybody like me who has spent a lot of money on points to be unable to spend them.

Please get this issue sorted out as soon as possible.
