What does this mean exactly: "Getting MSXML6 in band on all supported Operating Systems". Does "in band" mean that it will be automatically distributed with Automatic Updates?

Why make this announcement in the first place, especially without a CAB for MSXML6 and the impact would have been known at the time?

Why wait 6 months until 2/3 weeks before the kill-bit timeframe to back down?

Why still no MSXML6 CAB support, months after we told you about this obvious point?

Why not speak plainly "in band" means nothing to MOST people.

This just smacks of incompetence all round.

In-Band refers to getting MSXML6 in the Operating System like msxml3 is. CAB is required only because MSXML6 cannot be guaranteed on a machine. If we can get MSXML6 in upcoming Service Packs of all supported Operating Systems , there will be no requirement for CAB for MSXML6.

If you want developers to move to MSXML6 you need to provide a CAB now - it would take hardly anytime to do.

Otherwise, we all have to wait until it's built-in to all supported OSs - how long will that take?

So we stay with MSXML4 then.
