We forgot to update the file with the splash screen in it. Nice getting back online to messages about it. My thanks to those of you who mentioned it nicely. <g> Anyway, Milind and I have

Techy News Blog » Whoops!

PingBack from http://www.artofbam.com/wordpress/?p=8415

I did look it up and noticed that the OLE DB Provider for VFP did get updated as well. Fantastic !!

So there is no oversight, could someone who has the "juice" there at MS make sure the separate download link for the OLE DB Provider for VFP gets updated appropriately?

This is the current URL, which shows for SP1 level :

After a discussion of the bug fix list of SP2, some have stated that they thought the fixes were arcane and that the miniscule number of Windows Vista incompatibilities fixed were of concern to them because they have seen far more issues posted in various forums on the web.

And here is one post from the VFUG List Server:

If the Vista issues are not fixed, there's really no reason for me to distribute new runtimes to thousands of users. I never had any of the issues listed on the bug fix list.

where are the promised bugfixes for Windows Vista? This SP is not very valuable for me. When I see the messages of other VFP users relating to the new bugs (e.g. tooltips on grid header and column), I think it is better not to install the SP

The window behaviour of vfp forms on vista is unacceptable. If you move the mouse over the title bar, vfp shows the old win2k-style min- and max-buttons which don't even work! Very sluggish work after all the months that we waited....
