Running Visual Studio 2005 on Vista RC1 with HighDPI

When moving the separator bars/sliders between the docked windows/panes, you'll have a terrible experience. Same thing when trying to dock a floatable window.

Workaround?

Go to the Compatibility tab in the properties of DevEnv.exe and check the Disable display scaling on high DPI settings checkbox. Voilà.

I’ve been told that there won’t be any need to do this by the time we release Vista.

Yeah, I do that with pretty much every app I run. That scaling looks SO MUCH WORSE than an app that is simply smaller than everything else.

In the dialog where you set the DPI value choose a custom DPI size. You will find a checkbox "Use Windows XP style DPI scaling".
Since build 5536 this works as if you had that "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" checkbox on all non-DPI aware apps.
So its easier that specify it for each app individually.
