Visual Studio 2008 / Framework 3.5 Learning Resources Page

Here are some consolidated resources from myself and the community for getting up to speed with Visual Studio 2008:

(NOTE: if you have a resource to add just let me know)

Main Visual Studio 2008 Product Page     http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/vstudio/products/default.aspx

Main World Wide Events Website     http://msevents.microsoft.com/cui/default.aspx?culture=en-US

Visual Studio / Framework 3.5 Training Kit   http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=7602397

(This is not only good learning content but has slides and demos so you can teach others)

NOTE:  Don't let the name throw you off, this is your best "one stop shop" for getting MS content.  Make sure to take advantage of the Virtual Labs!  Below is an extremely short list  at what I found when I searched on the keyword "linq":

Channel 9 (of course)     http://channel9.msdn.com/

ScottGu's blog entry about the release of VS2008 and .NET 3.5 very interesting and handy to get up to speed:

http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2007/11/19/visual-studio-2008-and-net-3-5-released.aspx

Then there is the excellent articles at the Code Project website, just do a search for VS2008, it is at:

http://www.codeproject.com/?cat=1

And more specifically this article on the new features in VS2008:

http://www.codeproject.com/dotnet/Visual_Studio_2008.asp

Tech Target also has an excellent learning guide for VS 2008 at:

http://searchwindevelopment.techtarget.com/general/0,295582,sid8_gci1280711,00.html

The best resources at this time are MSDN, however you CAN find activity and articles elsewhere.  Examples are: http://www.professionalvisualstudio.com/blog/ or http://www.codeguru.com/cpp/cpp/cpp_managed/components/article.php/c13967/.

Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 – Learning Portal

http://www.microsoft.com/learning/vstudio/2008/default.mspx

(includes free clinics ande-books on LINQ, AJAX, and Silverlight)

One of the most useful ones on VB 9.0 comes from Bart De Smet's blog (he's a C# MVP, and may be about to convert himself to ... VB ???).

http://community.bartdesmet.net/blogs/bart/archive/tags/VB+9.0/default.aspx

Ressources that can be found through Beth Massi's blog and the VB Team Blog.

http://blogs.msdn.com/bethmassi

http://blogs.msdn.com/vbteam

Download C# linq and linq to sql samples.

 http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/vcsharp/bb894665.aspx

Watch 5 to 10 minutes of deep dive linq videos from Mike Taulty. There are around 25 of those but short and to the point.
