Web Technologies and Temp Jobs at SnagAJob.com

I had an opportunity today to visit a Richmond VA-based online business, www.SnagAJob.com, a leading service provider for hourly and temp jobs. I met with a great development/engineering team there, learned what cool applications they had been working on using Microsoft web technologies, and demoed some exciting features of IE 8, Web Slice, Web Accelerator and Visual Search.

This visit reminds me of the days when I worked at a start-up in Boston many years ago, though SnagAJob.com is a well-established business. I walked away with a great impression with the work the team has done, and couldn’t resist to grab a 1 3/4” x 3 1/2” business card at the front desk that is very cute in its design with a vivid orange color on semi-transparent plastic material. So I thought I’d share it with you with a scanned image here.

What does the MSDN website have anything to do with politics?

I tried to log in to my MSDN website, but I was welcomed by a completely different web site. Initially I thought it was just a paid ad on the main web page and it would change back after a few seconds. But it didn't. After a while, I discovered that I had a typo in the url, http://msdn.microsoft.com.

Find out what happens when you drop the last "o" in .com in the URL. I have to say, people are just very smart. I'm not only surprised, but impressed.

Adding the "o" back, I'm back to business.
