I have been with Microsoft since 2002, but I have been with Dynamics even longer, starting out with a Dynamics NAV partner in 1992. I currently lead the Partner Programs team in the US Dynamics organization and look forward to keeping in touch with the US Dynamics Partner Community on this blog.

As you may know, I have a strong passion for improving the user experience for partners navigating PartnerSource on a regular basis. A few weeks back, I mentioned the changes to our Support pages and how we are continuing to make improvements. Now, it's your turn to provide us with additional feedback. The Microsoft Dynamics corporate team passed along this information...
In response to partner feedback and an ongoing effort to improve our online experience, we will be conducting usability studies with Microsoft Dynamics partners. This is your chance to give us your feedback on the current redesign, and tell us where there might be pain points today, or what you would like to see in the future. The usability studies we are conducting will take place during the Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) in Washington DC.
The individual studies will last approximately 60 minutes. Each individual that qualifies to participate in the study will be compensated $150.00 in the form of a check to cover your time. Please note, you will only need to attend one session. You WILL NOT need to be there all day.
To participate in the usability studies you must:

If you are attending WPC, don't miss out on this opportunity to assist with the future designs of PartnerSource!
Today, we are kicking off Dynamic Business Week, a five-day event hosted by the Microsoft Dynamics CRM team. The event consists of a series of interactive online discussions, led by Microsoft executives and CRM industry experts that cover topics ranging from Social CRM, Sales Performance Management, Marketing Management and Customer Service operations. As attendees are watching the pre-recorded sessions, they have an opportunity to network with select speakers as well as one another using both the interactive event platform and through social media like Twitter, using the #dynbizweek hash tag.
The goals for this event are to help:
Presenters include, but are not limited to Paul Greenberg/ZDNet, Mike Ehrenberg/Microsoft Distinguished Engineer, Josh Greenberg/Enterprise Applications Consulting, and Scott Albro/Focus.com. A complete list of speakers and presentation schedule is located on the Dynamics Business Week website.
Here's a quick reminder of the recent changes we made to the Microsoft Dynamics AX and Microsoft Dynamics NAV enhancement plan requirements.
Enrollment in an enhancement plan is essential for customers to have access to the support and training they need as they purchase new functionality and users to expand their business. Beginning June 1, 2010, Microsoft began requiring all Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Microsoft Dynamics AX (Module Based Licensing and Business Ready Licensing) customers to be enrolled in the Business Ready Enhancement Plan when making additional license purchases, such as additional modules and users.
This policy, which is consistent with our other Microsoft Dynamics products, allows us to extend additional value to our customers through innovative upgrades and updates. Remaining on a Business Ready Enhancement Plan is the right decision for customers to help them drive greater business value to their organization, leading to greater customer satisfaction over time.
Actions for partners:
If you have questions or concerns, please send them to email@example.com.
Visit PartnerSource to view the original policy change announcement.

My fellow Microsoftie, Brent Combest - US ERP Channel Manager, wanted to share this important information regarding the Microsoft Dynamics GP 3 Users for $1 Promotion that is expiring soon on June 25, 2010. I hope many Microsoft Dynamics GP partners have taken advantage of this offer to hopefully reinvigorate some of your stagnant sales opportunities!
The last couple of months have been great for Microsoft Dynamics GP. We’ve seen a tremendous amount of activity in the market. To see proof of this, you don’t have to look any further than the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 launch and the 4900+ people who attended! These events demonstrated the excitement that lies in the market place today and the unbelievable potential to go out and gain market share – not to mention the services revenue available to your business.
Over the past couple of months this excitement has translated into a strong uptick in customer adds which has largely been driven by the Three Users for a Buck Offer. With the upcoming expiration of what has been the most lucrative offer run in recent memory – I wanted to take a moment to remind you that it will only be valid through close of business on Friday, June 25 (click here for offer details available on PartnerSource).
Hopefully the offer has been a great aide to your business in generating a set of net new customers and a stream of services revenue. With the all of the activity that’s been generated around the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 launch and this offer, let’s make sure we’re capitalizing on this rare opportunity to bring in a wave of revenue to your business.
Lastly, with the chaos that June brings, I also want to stress the importance of getting orders in sooner rather than later. With an offer as rich as this one, I expect June 25 to be a busy day, so if you have any questions pertaining to orders prior to that day, let us know as soon as possible so we can remove any barriers that may arise.
You can direct your prospects to the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 launch site for promotion details. Also, don't forgot to review all active promotions on PartnerSource as you close out FY10!
Just a quick reminder to take advantage of the Second Shot campaign for you certification needs before it expires. This is especially important as we head into the certification changes associated with the Microsoft Partner Network for Microsoft Dynamics in October 2010. You must obtain your exam voucher code, schedule an exam, pay for your exam, and take both the first exam, and (if necessary) your Second Shot retake exam by June 30, 2010.
Easy steps to get your second chance.
Visit, the Second Shot website to register and for addtional information, including the detailed FAQs about the offer.
Of course I'm hopeful for everyone to pass an exam on their first attempt, but it's always helpful to have the Second Shot if you need a retake. Good luck!
Here's a survey that as a Microsoft Dynamics partner, you may not want to pass up! The contest ends on July 6, 2010. The contest has been extended to September 7, 2010.
In April 2010, AMR Research and Microsoft launched the Partner Sure Step Benchmarking Program. This program is part of Microsoft’s commitment to providing partners with leading solutions and services that help address Microsoft Dynamics implementation needs.
Receiving your input on your experiences with Sure Step is a necessary and vital part of this process. In partnership with AMR Research, an independent third-party research company we have contracted to perform this study, we want to ensure we are doing everything we can to make sure Sure Step is meeting your needs.
As a highly valued Sure Step user, we are inviting you to spend approximately 20 minutes completing this survey in order to share specific feedback about business and technical aspects associated with Sure Step. We encourage and welcome your open and honest feedback. Please note that you will remain anonymous.
As a thank-you for taking the time to complete this survey, once you have completed your survey you will have the ability to download for free an AMR Research Report that offers valuable insights into current trends in the ERP and Enterprise Software space. You will also be entered into a drawing to win one of four X-BOX’s (chances of winning are approximately 1 in 20).
Vist PartnerSource to access the survey, and view the Official Drawing Rules.

My colleague, Sarah Anderson, has been working with a couple of partners to develop some training to enable you to use Microsoft Dynamics CRM as an internal marketing tool. Attend these web seminars to gain insight into best practices from your own peers.
If you’re a marketer in a Microsoft partner organization (which includes Microsoft Dynamics, platform partners, and ISVs) but you’re not using Microsoft Dynamics CRM to enter, track and report on marketing campaigns, you’re probably not maximizing the “influence” that marketing can have in your organization and on your job (after all, your manager is looking for ROI, right?). Join us for this two-part web seminar series designed to introduce marketers in Microsoft partner organizations to the power of CRM. In this series you’ll actually learn how to setup a campaign, how to import and export a list, how to produce reports, and much more! You’ll even download a workbook that will serve as a reference guide to setting up your own campaigns. Many partners have asked for helpful step-by-step instructions to using Microsoft Dynamics CRM to tracking marketing results. Here’s your chance to learn how from someone who has experienced the “trial and error” for you!
