There have been some exciting announcements shared this week at the Directions conference in Orlando, FL for Microsoft Dynamics partners - learn more at the official Microsoft Dynamics ERP blog - The Edge.
While reading the September 2011 issue of Redmond Channel Partner, I ran across Jeffrey Schwartz’s article "Microsoft’s ‘Master VAR’ Program: Dynamics Franchising Revisited". For the past several months I know quite a few partners (big and small) have expressed interest in understanding more about this type of partner program.
As you all know, there is a lot of change at the moment in the market driven by the economy, customers buying behaviors, and disruptive innovation such as the cloud. All these changes have resulted in a high degree of uncertainty amongst partners and customers. Microsoft has reacted to these by introducing the new Microsoft Partner Network (MPN) that will be the foundation for our partners and Microsoft’s mutual success through this time of tremendous change. The introduction of MPN will continued to roll out through January 2012 and beyond, and as a reminder, there are also upcoming certification requirements Microsoft Dynamics partners need to address by October 1, 2011.
Due to the impact of the new Microsoft Partner Network requirements, a potential option for partners moving forward could be participation in the Microsoft Dynamics Master VAR Program. But, we know many of you have questions regarding the program, therefore, we are inviting you to hear the complete story by joining us on an upcoming web seminar happening on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 11:00am Pacific.

We continue to have penetration into the Microsoft Dynamics AX channel on growing capacity and helping partners build a foundation for NEW consultants coming into the Microsoft Dynamics AX product line. Microsoft Dynamics AX Fast TrAX Training Program is a 4 week immersion program for NET NEW consultants who may be from the Industry, Competitive or Graduate pools to ramp and be immersed into the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 product and begin their success as a consultant.
We are excited to announce we have added an additional track beginning November 7, culminating December 9, 2011. This will be the last course of Microsoft Dynamics Fast TrAX in this Calendar Year.

Personally, I’ve had the chance to interview a few individuals attending these classes at our Microsoft Fargo Campus, and their feedback has been excellent. I’ll be sharing their commentary in future blog posts soon!
Microsoft still has two weeks remaining in Fiscal Year 2011, but I wanted to ensure you are knowledgeable of the fiscal calendar changes starting July 1, 2011 by passing along this information from the Microsoft Dynamics Operations team.
Beginning in FY12 (July 1, 2011), Microsoft will align its fiscal calendar to our external reporting rhythm.
Microsoft's fiscal year will then be defined consistently moving forward as July 1 to June 30.
Microsoft is aligning all lines of business to the Gregorian financial calendar in order to better streamline accounting, record keeping and reporting. For Microsoft Business Solutions, these dates are reflected on the FY12 calendar posted on the PartnerSource Ordering Homepage under the 'Ordering Resources' section.
