Thanks to Blake on the Road to Know Where for the tip
The latest in the I’m a PC series, this is really neat showing off the easy to use Windows Photo Gallery. It really is that easy BTW.
Check out some more of the latest I’m a PC videos at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/rookies/
Earlier I mentioned the Toshiba TG01 phone that looked so good in the review pictures, well there is now a promo video and it is well worth looking at on www.megawhat.tv
there are some very neat touches like the 3 bar scrolling screen, the hand gestures and the tilt functionality.
When can i get one?
Remember the wooden PC? Well now there is the cardboard PC
I quite like the idea especially for its green credentials as ‘…the outer body can be recycled…’
But keep it away from all things wet such as coffee, half drunk water bottles and other detritus that can be found on the typical geek desk.
Just been playing around on the Wonderwall (beta) on msn in the US, and I quite like it…
It is a bit different from some of the usual stuff from MSN, so hats of for trying something a little different. It is nice how you can drill down into news stories or celebs, and how the nice horizontal scrolling brings in the story.
PS But why not in Silverlight ?
Another day another little bit of fun with Twitter
This time generating a word cloud from the bios of all your followers, at http://twittersheep.com
Nice big fat red microsoft sat right in the middle, I guess that is central to my followers then. But also interesting to see other terms such as geek, cars, love, technology, windows and UK featuring large.
BTW on the web site you can dive into any of those tags and see other words associated with it, in I guess in other twitters bios
Thanks to @rajanand for the tip
Ok so I still the love the idea of an Alloy 01 phone, however will it ever see the light of day? But recent reviews of the Toshiba TG01 phone are making me a little bit exited that finally there is a really really cool Windows Mobile phone that the fanboys might look at with a little envy, especially if you can live without mutlitouch…
Electricpig have a really good review highlighting the key features of the Toshiba phone, and it certainly ticks the boxes in terms of neat gadgetness and performance.
‘Processor speed The Snapdragon 1GHz processor makes every other smartphone look as slow as an arthritic tortoise. This will need to become a standard in all phones very quickly, or Toshiba will be up there with Samsung and Nokia, gunning for number one spot.
Resolution The W-VGA screen packs in more pixels than almost any other handset out there, and makes full frame web browsing a real possibility, since even tiny text is legible.
Screen size 4.1 inches? That’s almost a third the size of the iPhone’s display again. It’s absolutely huge. You could probably build on it and call it a studio apartment and nobody would notice. At the very least, you’ll be able to watch videos more than comfortably on the train, which is where the TG01’s DivX support will also come in handy.
Operating System Yes, it’s Windows Mobile, but we’ve never seen it looking so sharp - check out the menus Toshiba has grafted on in place of Microsoft’s stardard interface in our photo gallery. And who knows, the TG01 might even be able to run Windows Mobile 6.5 when it arrives.’
I would be more than happy to test drive one synch to Windows 7 ;)
I have mentioned Photsynth in the past and wanted to share WinliveMatts links to various Photosynths of the current snowy UK weather.
The ones of Primrose hill are very good and captures the conditions wonderfully
If you have nay other Photosynths of the current Snowy weather let me know
Although Windows 7 is just in Beta form and it has only been available for a few weeks it has already taken 0.23% of the Web market share according to digital lifestyles.info , in terms of which OS Web Users are running.
‘Microsoft’s new Windows 7 OS - currently in its first public beta - also enjoyed a surge of popularity. The company first made the beta available for download on January 10, although it suffered an inauspicious debut, with servers crumbling under the demand.
The OS swiftly registered at 0.04 percent of web users, and the fluctuated between 0.12 percent and 0.15 percent for the rest of the month before an end-of-month leap to 0.23…’
