We wanted to know what you thought about Ford SYNC, so we asked.
And you answered!
SYNC fans tweeted their favorite features of the system for a chance to win an Xbox, a Microsoft keyboard or an Arc Touch Mouse. The overwhelming favorite was the ability to control SYNC with your voice. Many of you loved the Audible text messaging feature, and told us that going hands- and eyes-free makes you drive safer.
This week, we’re bringing Ford SYNC, powered by Microsoft, to the Emerald City as part of gdgt Live! Seattle. And we want to share the fun with you while we’re at it.
On Thursday August 16, we’re going social for a fun contest. Whether you are able to attend gdgt Live! Seattle or not, it’s easy to participate. All you have to do is go follow @MSFTWEB and tweet your favorite Ford SYNC feature some time during the day using the #SYNCSEA hash tag.
Told you it was simple.
So, what’s in it for you? Well, for starters, our grand prize giveaway is an Xbox 360 with Kinect. Plus we’ll have some amazing Microsoft Hardware up for grabs too. We like to show off all the great things you can do with SYNC like telling the car where you want to go, listening to text messages or calling up your favorite song using your voice. Join us at gdgt Live! Seattle to see and hear for yourself.
And don’t worry if you can’t make it, the contest is open to all residents of the US.
See you in Seattle!
The Fine Print
The year is 1976.
ABBA, Queen and Rod Stewart rule the airwaves, while “Rocky”and “A Star is Born” dominate at the box office.
It was in 1976 that Ford first launched the Ford Fiesta—a small but mighty hatchback which has gone on to become one of Ford’s global best-sellers, with over 15 million sold.
Thirty-six years later, Ford is introducing the newest Fiesta to Europe by hosting an event in Rome at the famed Cinecittà Studios lot, where drivers put Fiestas to the test. Driving through the location where movies like “Roman Holiday” and “Ben-Hur” were filmed adds something to the Fiesta test-drive experience, to say the least!
Clearly, there’ve been a lot of changes to the Fiesta over the years—most notably, its technology. In the 1976 Fiesta, you would have been lucky to get an FM radio. Today it comes with one of the most comprehensive suites of in-car connectivity features available in a small car: Ford SYNC. In fact, 2012 marks the introduction of SYNC to the Fiesta in Europe, a major milestone in Ford’s approach to democratizing technology, making advanced features more broadly available to customers.
Microsoft and Ford want to chauffeur you, a friend and gdgt co-founder Peter Rojas in the all-new 2013 Ford Edge to gdgt live in New York on Monday, June 25! Along the way, you and your guest will experience the latest version of Ford SYNC with MyFord Touch and see firsthand why SYNC, powered by Microsoft, is one of the leading in-car infotainment systems in the industry.
What’s better than being chauffeured through the streets of Manhattan in a brand-new Ford crossover while getting one-on-one time with gdgt co-founder Peter Rojas to chat about the latest tech gadgets (some of which you might even find in the car)? Plus, once you’re at the event, you’ll be able to participate in the VIP hour, where you can get to know some of the hottest names in consumer electronics, getting your hands on the latest gadgets and hot tech before any of your other friends.
