Great writing advice

I was checking out my referral logs, and found this wonderful piece on the Ten Mistakes Writers Don't See (But Can Easily Fix When They Do) via Jim Martin's blog. This one's a keeper. Some of the items made me wince; I know they're things I do without thinking. There are some mistakes he points out that, while I understand why they are mistakes, I don't know that I'd ever be able to see them. I guess that's the downside of self-publishing, it's too easy to write and post without giving my writing a careful editing pass. If your goal is to be a professional writer, you won't want to miss this article which the author (Pat Holt) says could also be called “10 COMMON PROBLEMS THAT DISMISS YOU AS AN AMATEUR.”
